The first themed answer I got was Slippery When Wet band BON JOVI for bonfire. Then SURE, WHY NOT (sure-fire); CROSS-COUNTRY (crossfire); and BACK TO SCHOOL (backfire) all fell into place.
"Patriotic finger-pointer" is a good clue for UNCLE SAM.
